UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal called on Prime Minister Sushil Koirala at the latter’s official residence in Baluwatar, Kathmandu on Wednesday.
Matters relating to contentious issues in the constitution-drafting
such as forms of governance, state restructuring, judiciary, electoral
system and resumption of the obstructed Legislature-Parliament discussed
during the meeting that lasted for around an hour.
At the meeting, PM Koirala stressed on the need for further cooperation
and consensus among the political parties to draft a new constitution
within January 22 deadline, adding that consensus-based constitution was
his priority, according to PM's press advisor Prakash Adhikari.
Saying that the prolonged obstruction of House would anger the people,
the PM urged the opposition party leader to help resume the
parliamentary business.
In response, leader Dahal requested the PM to ensure the implementation
of the agreement on the formation of a High Level Political Committee,
Dahal's aide Shiva Khakurel said.
