HONGKONG, SEP 26 -
Vice-president Paramanand Jha paid a courtesy call on Chen Quanguo, the
chief of Communist Party of China’s Tibet Autonomous Region, on
Thursday and requested the latter to take the initiative for the
expansion of Qinghai-Tibet Railway up to Nepal border.
Hari Prasad Basyal, Nepali consular in Lhasa, said that the meeting
concentrated on trade, tourism, investement, development, assistance and
mutual benefit between both Nepal and China. Jha also talked with
Chinese officials on current political situation and progresses made in
the constitution writing process.
According to Basyal, Vice-president Jha also requested the Chinese
officials to increase investiment in mega-infrastructure development
projects in Nepal.
