KATHMANDU, MAY 07 -
Nepal will have to chase a target of 263 runs against Afghanistan in
their ACC Premier League at Kinrara Academy Oval, Kuala Lumpur.
Half-century each from Usman Ghani and Hashmatullah Shaidi and some big
hitting from the middle and bottom order batsmen propelled the Afghan
side to the total of 262 runs in 49.3 overs. Ghani was bowled by Aarif
Sheikh while Shaidi was caught by Sheikh off Shakti Gauchan delivery.
They both scored 51 runs.
After finally breaking the opening stand of 98 runs of Ghani and and
Noor Ali Zadran (43), Nepali bowlers were able to tame the Afghan
batsmen until late cameos from Afghan Captain Mohammad Nabi (34 off 25
balls) and Shafiqullah Shafiq (21 off 8 balls) took them past the
250-mark.
Shakti Gauchan and Basanta Regmi claimed three wickets each. Aarif
Sheikh took two and Sompal Kami and Raj Kumar Pradhan had a wicket each.
