KATHMANDU, MAR 12 -
Nepal i batsmen ended up posting a respectable total of 137 runs in their allotted 20 overs against Ireland in their warm-up match at the ICC World Twenty20 at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah, Bangladesh on Wednesday.
Ireland had won the toss and elected to field first.
Nepal
i openers failed to deliver their best, as Subash Khakurel made 10 runs
while Sagar Pun retuned to the pavilion after scoring just 6 runs.
Captain Paras Khadka and his deputy Gyanerdra Malla came into the field and held the Nepal i innings together hitting 31 and 47 runs respectively.
Having posted a respectable total against the No. 1 Associate nation, Nepal now faces the daunting task of restricting Ireland.
Meanwhile, Ireland have resumed their innings and have made 79 runs for the loss of three wickets in the first 13 overs. Nepal i bowler Jitendra Mukhiya took all the three wickets to have fallen so far in the Ireland innings.
It promises to be a tight finish if the Nepal i bowlers can continue with the good work in the field.
