District Administration Office and Central Child Welfare Committee rescue d 31 children from Rabi Bhawan-based Aama Ghar run by social worker Dilsobha Shrestha , on Wednesday.
The children were rescue
d today after reports came to fore that the children had been kept
there without minimum standards of living and in a very filthy
condition.
The DAO and Central Child Welfare Committee had earlier directed social worker
Shrestha to improve situation at her Aama Ghar after several
complaints were raised against Shrestha alleging that she was sending
children for household work instead of sending them to schools and that
she was sending children abroad for adoption.
"We rescue
d after we found that Shrestha was running child home without taking
permission and also the situation of children at Aama Ghar was at high
risk," Committee's programme manager Namuna Bhusal said.
It has been said that Shrestha'a Aama Ghar provides shelter to helpless old people and to orphan children.
