Real Estate Expo 2014 kicked off at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu on Thursday.
The expo is being organised by Nepal Land and Housing Developer’s Association ( NLHDA ) with an aim of bringing all stakeholders together to help boost the real estate sector.
The expo has 83 stalls showcasing housing and commercial apartment
projects along with construction materials such as cement, steel,
paints, pipes and fittings and sanitary wares, among others. Besides,
interior designs, decorative items, water purifiers, electronic goods
and automobiles are also put on display.
The expo also has a “Property Clinic” which provides the overall
information about buying property. Another feature of the expo is
“Property Tour” programme, under which prospective buyers can make a
visit to the construction site.
Twenty-five stalls are dedicated to housing developers, who are
showcasing current and upcoming projects and different schemes they are
offering.
Downtown Apartment is offering rental guarantee with a 7 percent
return, buy back guaranty with a 10 percent return, and home loans at
7.7 interest in association with commercial banks.
Similarly, Sunrise Towers is offering a 5 percent discount on
apartments, CE Construction offers a 10 percent discount and Westar
Residency is giving a 5 percent discount.
Hill View Housing and Comfort Housing have come up with a 10 percent
discount offer, while Cityscape Apartment offers a 7 percent discount.
Suppliers of construction materials have also launched discount schemes.
Bajra and Bajra Enterprises, authorised distributor of Porcelanosa
Ceramic and Tiling, is giving up to 30 percent discount on its products.
Anuj Maskey, sales and marketing officer at the company, said the offer
is applicable to shower trays, tiles and paints. Likewise, Nepal
Property Market said it is offering a 30 percent discount on design
charges.
There are four stalls of banking institutions which are offering
housing loans at low interest rates. Standard Chartered Bank said it
provides housing loans at 8 percent, while Bank of Kathmandu has offered
the loans at 8-8.5 percent. Ace Development and NMB Bank both are
providing housing loans at 9 percent. NMB Bank has offered a 50 percent
discount on processing fee.
The organisers have expected 50,000 visitors. Tickets are priced at Rs 50.
